INVEST IN OUR SCHOOLS
Jessie knows that a quality education is the foundation for a lifetime of success. That's why she has voted repeatedly to increase funding for education in Wisconsin. She recently voted to increase the reimbursement rate for special education students because she knows it’s important for students and teachers to have the tools they need to succeed.
STRENGTHEN OUR WORKFORCE
Since her election to the Assembly in 2013, Jessie has supported legislation that strengthens our economy, trains our workforce, and helps people on the path to prosperity. She voted to increase funding for youth apprenticeships, and career and technical education grants. These programs help improve Wisconsin’s workforce by giving people the skills they need to succeed in a family-supporting career.
AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE
Jessie believes that it is necessary for everyone in Wisconsin to have access to affordable high quality health care. That is why she voted in support of insurance protections for people with pre-existing conditions. She also supported a state budget that invested in our local hospitals and our healthcare workforce.
HELPING FAMILY AND COMMUNITIES DURING CRISIS
Jessie voted for bipartisan legislation that removed the waiting period for unemployment benefits for those who’ve lost their jobs during the shutdown, eliminated co-pays for coronavirus testing, and allowed the state to draw down federal funds to deal with the crisis. She knows it’s important to keep our state safely opened, while taking common sense precautions to reduce the spread of coronavirus.
