It has been an honor to serve as the State Representative of the 21st Assembly District since 2013. I am grateful for the opportunity to pass many legislative reforms but also humbled by the unprecedented challenges uniquely attributable to a once-in-a-century pandemic. Hopefully, through these experiences, I have earned your support to continue representing Oak Creek, South Milwaukee, and parts of Franklin.
The aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic has left our economy in desperate need of revitalization. We're experiencing rampant inflation and painfully high gas prices. These record-setting costs on goods and services are continuing to eat away at the pocketbooks of hardworking Wisconsinites.
During his tenure, Gov. Tony Evers has asked the Legislature to increase taxes by $1 billion, increase Wisconsin's gas tax by 8 cents per gallon, and proposed tying future gas tax increases to inflation. Republicans wanted to ensure our constituents could keep more of their own money and have repeatedly rejected Evers' proposals for tax hikes. We not only rejected every tax hike proposal from the Governor, we even voted to cut taxes by $3.4 billion – the largest tax cut in state history.
We need strong and experienced leadership to help get Wisconsin back on track. For the past nine years, I have advocated for policies that make the 21st Assembly District an excellent place for businesses to grow and for families to succeed. I will continue to do so as we work to recover from a contracting economy.
